IMPORTANT VIDEO!! when do you give credit for nail art inspiration????
(hint: if you have to ask, you probably should give credit)
Reblogging because PREACH!
Credit isn’t about soothing egos or placating anyone or selfishness or anything like that. It’s about making the nail art community a true community! It hurts no one to say you were inspired, even if it’s loosely, by another nail artist! If it were reversed wouldn’t you feel great knowing someone else was inspired by you? At the end of the day it’s about doing to right thing because it makes other people feel good.
And she made a fantastic point that if someone does obviously use a design of someone else’s without credit, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt first with a nice, “Hey don’t forget to give credit to so and so for the design ;) your version looks amazing! great colour choices!” or something like that. Instead of automatically presuming they’re doing something shady and jumping all over them. Let’s reserve judgement until we know for sure and make the nail art community NICER and BETTER!
